Tsahal's self defence (Karaté Bushido n°183 Septembre 1991)

"What does one need, fundamentally, to become good at Krav Maga?"
-First of all, one must love it. One may very well not have practised any combat sport beforehand, or one may have trained in Krav Maga for years. One may already have a good grounding in combat, and particularly to be sensitive to the correct movement. Basically, no special quality is really required, other than good health. This discipline suits men as well as women, although unfortunately the latter are few to study it. This is pity, because the self-defence aspect is really an ideal discipline for women.

"What are the classes like, are there many injuries?"
-No, safety regulations are very precise. On the one hand it is necessary to learn not to be limited when faced with an attack, and on the other not to be injured at every class. Furthermore, we have shin-guards, and we practice with and without gloves. Indoor training does not only take the form of combat.
